Raising Awareness and Donations for Those Who Need a Little Extra Help
For the month of October and through the end of the year, Rosenberg Plumbing & Air is sponsoring a program to raise awareness and collect donations for organizations that serve special populations in the San Antonio community. The first organization we are sponsoring is the Battered Women and Children’s Shelter. This organization has a mission to break the cycle of violence and to strengthen families who are in crisis. They provide emergency shelter, transitional housing, and parenting education to help families heal and grow. They also provide specialized intervention for children, youth, and the elderly, as well as programs for those who perpetrate the abuse. Currently, we are asking our clients and team members to make donations or collect clothing and toys to deliver to the shelter for those in need.
The second organization is the San Antonio Cancer Council. The SA Cancer Council provides support to patients in need. All donations made to the organization go to fund cancer research and provide financial resources and patient assistance to help ease the strain. They help both those who are currently undergoing treatment for cancer and survivors.
One way the SA Cancer Council does this is with Cure Cancer cards. These cards give cancer survivors discounts at local stores during certain events. The San Antonio Cancer Council has been serving the community for over 37 years and has raised more than $5.6 million to help patients and research.
